He was selected against Australia at Lahore in 1979-80 and scored 49 in his only innings.  In the first class cricket he scored 6001 runs at an impressive average of 47.62 including 16 hundreds and 30 fifites with the top score of 206 not out. In List A cricket he scored 442 runs in 17 matches at an average of 40.18 including three fifties with the top score of 96.
